Dr. Carrie Young-McWilliams is a lifelong educator and passionate advocate for students and families, ensuring they receive the education and support they deserve. Her commitment to her students doesn’t end at graduation—many of them continue to seek her guidance well into adulthood, a testament to the lasting impact she has on their lives.
As a retired military spouse of 31 years, Dr. Carrie has had the privilege of connecting with people from diverse cultures around the world. This experience has given her a deep understanding of the challenges children face, whether due to a deployed parent, an absent caregiver, or other life circumstances. From working in under-resourced communities to more affluent ones, she has seen a universal truth—every family wants to be heard, supported, and understood.
Now, Dr. Carrie shares her expertise beyond the classroom through writing, public speaking, and leading national and local trainings on best practices in education. She has contributed to three anthologies and continues to use her voice to inspire and uplift educators, parents, and students alike.
When she’s not advocating for children and families, Dr. Carrie loves to travel, meet new people, and spend quality time with her loved ones.
