About Dr. Carrie

As a retired military spouse of 31 years, Dr. Carrie has had the privilege of connecting with people from diverse cultures around the world. This experience has given her a deep understanding of the challenges children face, whether due to a deployed parent, an absent caregiver, or other life circumstances. From working in under-resourced communities to more affluent ones, she has seen a universal truth—every family wants to be heard, supported, and understood.

Now, Dr. Carrie shares her expertise beyond the classroom through writing, public speaking, and leading national and local trainings on best practices in education. She has contributed to three anthologies and continues to use her voice to inspire and uplift educators, parents, and students alike.

When she’s not advocating for children and families, Dr. Carrie loves to travel, meet new people, and spend quality time with her loved ones.

My Work

“I have known Dr. Carrie for over 15 years. During this time, she has consistently advocated for the educational rights of all learners by fostering a teaching and learning environment that supports the whole child while building the capacity of all educational partners.”

- Tomeka-parent, teacher, former military spouse

"Dr. Carrie has consistently advocated for the educational rights of all learners."

"Dr. Carrie stepped in and became the voice our child needed."

"When our family felt lost and unheard, Dr. Carrie stepped in and became the voice our child needed. She didn’t just fight for services and support. She truly cared. Every meeting, every email, every late-night reassurance reminded us that we weren’t alone in our educational journey. Thanks to Dr. Carrie, all three of my children received the opportunities they deserved, and as a single parent, I felt empowered and hopeful again. We can’t thank Dr. Carrie enough for being a true educator and advocate."

"Voices of Wellness  speaks to readers with warmth and understanding."

"As a psychologist, I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming life can feel when stress, anxiety, and self-doubt take over. What I love about Voices of Wellness is how it speaks to readers with warmth and understanding, making complex psychological concepts easy to apply in daily life. It’s not just another self-help book—it feels like a compassionate guide, offering practical stories from women with real-life wisdom to help women regain balance and confidence. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a path to greater mental and emotional well-being."
